November 5th is GUY FAWKES DAY in Britain.
On this day, in 1605, Guy Fawkes tried to kill King James i by putting a bomb underthe Houses of Parliament. However,the secret plan failed and he and his friends were caught and killed. The british remember this event with fireworks and bonfires on which the figure of a man is burned. The guy is made out of straw ,old clothes and newspapers.
