The USA is a federal republic in North America. Its neighbours are Canada and Mexico. It consists of 50 states. Two states are located separates. There is Alaska in the south and Hawaii in the Pacific.
American's the biggest city is New York, but the New York isn't the capital. The capital is Washington D.C. There is a Federal Governments. The head of the government is President (Barack Obama). Each state has its own government. State government are responsible for polite and prison system, education, health service, building roads and so on. The parliament in the USA is called Congress and it consits of two houses, the house of Representatives and the Senate. Senators are elected for 6 years. Each state send two senators to the Senate. Representatives are alected for 2 years and the number depends on the population of each state.
There are two political parties – the Republican Party (righ wing) and the Democrates Party (left wing).
USA is the fourth largest state in the world with an area of 9,363,123 kilometres. It has a population of 215 million. Most of the population are immigrants from European countries. Over 10% are blacks.
English is the national language.
The national emblem of USA is the bald-headed eagle and the currancy is the UD dollar.
America is the richest country in the world. It has many products (cars, electrial goods) and agriculture (mostly tabacco, wheat and cattle) is important, too.
